Time of Your Life

This was a great entry in the Tom Thorne series - I would put it in the top three! - and although it takes Thorne into an unfamiliar setting (the countryside) it was much better than I'd feared it would be. A twisty plot, lots of suspects and a few really good red herrings meant that I was unable to guess the right killer right until the end. It's great to see that Mark can still surprise us Thorne fans after all these years and still develop the characters and plots in unusual directions while still delivering the thrills, spills and nuanced observations on everyday life, society and crime that we've come to expect from this series and this book did not disappoint. 4/5
